The poetry of Wayne Russell

Karma Angel

I want to be a child again
to see that way and to love
that way again.

Unconditionally, no mosaic
woven together in shallow
superficial heart, no lies, just

I want to come out of this
isolation and see the world
as it was when I had it in the
palm of my hand.

I want friends, like the ones
that I lost years ago or was it
just a visage?

Was it something in my mind?
People are so cruel and so unkind.

This voyage a tapestry, a karma
angel, singing in the heavens with
ones we have seen, pass through.

Do not cry, for it is they who are truly
the lucky ones, who know of no more
suffering, but see everything through
the eyes of a child; as we all someday
shall see.
